 About Us

The Bendigo District Astronomical Society Incorporated has been involved in astronomical activities in the Bendigo area since 1988. Peruse our newsletters for details. Society members communicate astronomy and space science matters more widely to the region via local media. We sell a growing list of locally produced, informative and affordable merchandise.

We hold General Meetings at the Discovery, Science & Technology Centre at 7:30 pm, every fourth Wednesday of the month; December and January excepted. Anyone interested in astronomy is welcome to attend. Find directions and maps on the Contact Us page.

We organise a busy calender of events
. We put on Astronomy and Space Science Presentations for members and the public, 7:30 pm, first Wednesday of the month. Check our Calender and Presentaions page for details. We arrange astro camps, social functions and various other occasions for members to gather, discuss, and participate in astronomy activities including telescope viewing and astrophotography.

We conduct Star Nights
and astronomical activities for the public, schools and other organisations. Contact us on the Contact Us page if you would like us to work with your organisation. We offer courses in astronomy and telescope operations for members and the public.

We have formed a partnership with
Discovery, Science & Technology Centre, where in addition to meetings, presentations and courses, we also hold working bees, social gatherings and other activities. Our long term plans include an observatory and research quality telescope on site.
